In 2014-2015 SheBuildsBrands lead by Kubi Springer, headed up the development of a Brand Audit and UK Market Penetration Strategy for Malaysian Fashion House, Mimpikita. Working under The Eurasia Consortium, we managed the project to produce an 8-week brand audit based in the UK and Malaysia. Upon completion, as a team we managed the launch of the brand campaign including securing retail distributors and stockists, recruiting and managing the press engagement, whilst managing the event logistics and buyer invites. Our role within this campaign was to create the social media strategy for promoting this runway show, consulting Mimpikita on the content that should be generated and used, advised Mimpikita on how best to communicate with the British audience (considering this Malaysian fashion house was branching into the UK for the first time) and of course, covering the event on social media. Before Snapchat, Instagram Story, Facebook Live and the current social media live streaming trends, we had foreshadowed this shift in the consumption of digital media and incorporated it into the social media marketing strategy for campaign.
Not only were we instrumental in the digital marketing aspect of the SS16 show, we also were responsible for sourcing PR resources, carrying out necessary market research, and finding nail technicians for the last minute amendments to the looks for the show. In fact, our working relationship with Y.Wait dates back to their launch day in early 2013. When it was made known to us that the stylists needed nail technicians to complete the look, we called Y.Wait. Bringing two clients together was very rewarding.
